Putting the cart before the horse?

I wonder if anyone in our social media and AI saturated world even knows that this saying, “putting the cart before the horse” exists?

Lately, I’ve been wondering and realizing that my errors and mistakes in life have often been because of my ignorance of the truth of this idiom. One is hard pressed to remember when they last heard it, or said it.

This idiom reflects a truism of order and sequence. To espouse subjectivity and then objectively state that “All truth is relative” is a powerful example of putting the cart before the horse. You used an objective truth claim to deny an objective truth claim!

It often requires much self-reflection and self-awareness with an ability and willingness to admit one’s imperfectness and recognize how I have repeatedly put the cart before the horse. With the result that I often, repeatedly, made life so difficult for myself, my loved ones, and the people that worked with me.

The acquisition of mere knowledge information, facts and details does not prevent a person from putting the cart before the horse. It usually takes time with a humble person who is knowledgeable and experienced to help us make the knowledge information, facts and details meaningful.
